Level 4 Award in Pensions Update
This single unit qualification develops and tests knowledge of pension reforms and how they impact at-retirement advice.
AFPC - Advanced Financial Planning Certificate
In order to have completed this qualification, individuals were required to obtain three units. These could have been selected from any combination of the available units at that time but must have included the compulsory G10 unit - Taxation and Trusts.
Level 6 Advanced Diploma in Insurance
The Level 6 Advanced Diploma in Insurance is a professional qualification providing an enhanced understanding of insurance practice, including both technical subject matter and overall application skills. A comprehensive assessment of market knowledge and understanding. In becoming Advanced Diploma qualified you join the community of proven insurance professionals. It is evidence of your purpose, commitment and ability.
DipFP - Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning
The RQF level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning develops core technical understanding across a broad range of key financial planning areas.
FPC - Financial Planning Certificate
A recognition offered by the Chartered Insurance Institute in the United Kingdom. Individuals who hold this qualification have satisfied coursework and testing requirements set by the organisation.
ACII - Associateship Examination
Associate members are those who have gone on to secure more advanced qualifications by completing the Advanced Diploma in Insurance or its predecessor the Associateship. This shows a commitment to continuous professional development.
AdvDipIP - Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning
This qualification enables professional advisers to develop specialist planning capabilities, covering topics such as personal tax and trust, business financial, pension and investment planning.

About Kate

Kate works closely with business owners, people approaching or in retirement, those investing capital, and families who want to pass on wealth in a considered and tax-efficient way. She is particularly passionate about working with clients who are engaged in the planning process and see their finances as a means of living life well.

Kate has a breadth of experience from working with accounting firms including 9 years with KPMG and has developed her own practice over many years, culminating in setting up Sunlaw, to drive client focused, independent financial planning for many years to come.

What Kate enjoys most about her work is helping people, the variety each client brings, and the opportunity to make a genuine difference to people’s lives. Kate founded Sunlaw Financial Planning to focus on doing just that.

Her specialty is helping clients make smarter decisions about their money, their future, and the life they want to lead. Her areas of expertise include financial planning, investments, Inheritance Tax planning, intergenerational wealth planning, retirement income planning, and protecting lifestyle through thoughtful long-term advice.

In Kate's spare time

Outside work, Kate enjoys drawing and painting, gardening, sailing, cold water swimming, and walking her dog, Sunny.

She is also deeply involved in her local community, serving as Chair of the village hall management committee, running a community café during the summer, performing in the annual village pantomime, and acting as a Trustee of a community benefit fund.
